Yet, hypocritically he did not believe in the Jewish God or Christianity. He stated, __ believe in Spinoza__ God who reveals himself in the harmony of all that exists, not in a God who concerns himself with the fate and the doings of mankind.

He was more than comfortable with the language of imperious persuasion.
