I'm so glad I have my own copy. I can read them again and again. I can read them again and again on trains, all my life, and every time I do I'll remember today and it will connect up. (Is that magic?)

Each spine was an encapsulated memory, each book represented hours, days of pleasure, of immersion into words.

I love words. _I crave descriptions that overwhelm my imagination with vivid detail. _I dwell on phrases that make my heart thrum. _I cherish expressions that pierce my emotions and force the tears to spill over. _ In essence, I long for a writer's soul sealed in ink on the page.

Let All Your Life__ Experiences Lead To More Writing & Encourage More Reading..!

Don't let reading make you arrogant. It can happen-believe me. Maybe you've even met a person or two like this, someone who thinks that being an English literature major or particularly well read puts them above the crowd. Take my advice:even if it's true, don't go there....I urge you to read, knowing the words you absorb will come out in your life in ways that inspire, uplift and encourage someone else. Life is meant to be passed on. Read with a servant's heart.

A country whose citizens do not read is already late because "reading" is just the first step to wisdom acquisition. Application of the learnt knowledge is the gateway to personal transformation. If you don't read, you have not yet begun anything!

We are narrative creatures, and we need narrative nourishment__arrative catechisms.

But when your heart is tired and dumb, your soul has need of ease,There__ none like the quiet folk who wait in libraries__he counselors who never change, the friends who never go,The old books, the dear books that understand and know!

And every book, you find, has its own social group--friends of its own it wants to introduce you to, like a party in the library that need never, ever end.

Books make the best ersatz friendships.
