This book's like black holes. It really engulfes you whole.

Sometimes I wonder if my heart is like a black hole--it's so dense that there's no room for light, but that doesn't mean it can't still suck me in.

This is what it means to love someone. This is what it means to grieve someone. It__ a little bit like a black hole. It__ a little bit like infinity.

The message of this lecture is that black holes ain__ as black as they are painted. They are not the eternal prisons they were once though_things can get out of a black hole both on the outside and possibly to another universe. So if you feel you are in a black hole, don__ give up _ there__ a way out.

... researchers argue that it's of utmost importance to unravel the nature of black holes, lest we someday begin to worship them. Sounds ridiculous, but whole segments of humankind have often revered the unknowable, venerating that which cannot be tested experimentally. Come to think of it, many still do in twenty-first-century society.

Sure, black holes can kill us, and in a variety of interesting and gruesome ways. But, all in all, we may owe our very existence to them.

Look at the universe! What do you see? An order? Tranquillity? A divine peace? You fool! You ignorant! Over there, galaxies are colliding, suns are exploding, black holes swallowing stars! Now look at the universe again! What do you see? A disorder? Chaos? Anything savage? You see a hell? Now, you see the truth!
