The point of school, after all, isn__ to do homework. The point of school is to learn. It was a mistake to assume that teachers__r anyone else, for that matter__utomatically knew what was best for me.Rules are there to help us__o create a culture, to streamline productivity, and to promote success. But we__e not computers that need to be programmed. If you approach your bosses or colleagues with respect, and your goals are in alignment, there__ often room for a little customization and flexibility. And on the other side, those in positions of power shouldn__ force people to adhere to a plan for the sake of protocol. The solution, always, is to listen carefully__o your own needs and to those of the people around you.

Trust your instincts, know what you want, and believe in your ability to achieve it. Rules and conventions are important for schools, businesses, and society in general, but you should never follow them blindly.

Humankind__ struggle against a hostile environment causes people throughout the ages to deploy their full armory of logic, training, strategy, imagination, inventiveness, and creativity. We are born with the natural ability to strategize. The most influential tool in humankind__ intellectual tool kit is the ability to regenerate a sense of unruffled alertness, to establish a poised stance that leads to intuitive discoveries generated by the conscious and unconscious mind constantly filtering a plethora of data, selecting critical facts, and producing elegant solutions to seemingly insoluble dilemmas.

Look for patterns, and then ask why those patterns exist.
