Great Man

Thomas Davis was a great man where poetry is concerned, and a better than Thomas Moore. All over Ireland his poetry is, and he would have done other things but that he died young.

To vilify a great man is the readiest way in which a little man can himself attain greatness.

A great man is one who leaves others at a loss after he is gone.

Beware of endeavoring to become a great man in a hurry. One such attempt in ten thousand may succeed. These are fearful odds.
