The way to get over creative block is to simply place some constraints on yourself. It seems contradictory, but when it comes to creative work, limitations mean freedom.

There are two types of limitations: those others place on us, and those we place on ourselves. One is more subtle. Both are equally dangerous.

Kids are naturally curious about the world around them. Everything is fascinating and holds their attention as they explore their new surroundings. Adults however, have grown up hearing the word __o_, __on't do that,_ and __uit daydreaming so often, they create their own little world, a world with lots of limitations. What then do most adults teach to their children? __o_, __on't do that,_ and __uit daydreaming._ So, what can you learn from a child today_?

The only limit to the realisation of our goals will be lack of enthusiasm.

The question I'm most commonly asked is "Why?" A more pertinent question might be, why is it that more people don't attempt to escape the limitations imposed upon them? If Tracks has a message at all, it is that one can be awake to the demand for obedience that seems natural simply because it is familiar. Wherever there is pressure to conform (one person's conformity is often in the interests of another person's power), there is a requirement to resist. Of course I did not mean that people should drop what they were doing and head for the wilder places, certainly not that they should copy what I did. I meant that one can choose adventure in the most ordinary of circumstances. Adventure of the mind, or to use an old-fashioned word, the spirit.

It would be indeed unusual if it turned out that the set of orders that our mind is able to construct and accept, having as it does a deep sense of __nderstanding the essence of things,_ matches precisely the set of all possible orders to be detected in the Universe as a whole. We should admit that this is not impossible, yet it does seem highly improbable. This way of thinking, so modest in its assessment of our abilities, is probably the only way recommended, given our lack of knowledge, because we are not aware of our limitations.

Real limitations can be reasonably challenged and expanded, but a hobbled mind is not going anywhere.

The wall of every inability can only be built with one's mind.
