People often miss things that don't exist--miss things that were but are not anymore.

You know how it is. You feel a little different because other people have two parents, even if they__e divorced. It__ like you grow up knowing that you__e missing something important that everyone else has, but you don__ know exactly what it is. I remember hearing my friends talking about how their fathers wouldn't let them stay out late or didn't like their boyfriends. It used to make me so angry because they didn't even realize what they had. Do you know what I mean?

When someone would mistreat, misinform, misuse, misguide, mishandle, mislead_ or any other "mis"_ to others, they__e obviously missing something from their lives.

There were so many places in my time with Rogerson that I wished I could go back to, hitting the stop button at just one moment to stop everything that came after. I had so many If Onlys, but each place I thought to stop meant missing something that came later. I needed it all, in the end, to make my own story find its finish.
